Marmomac, in Verona, is where the natural stone world gathers. This year, among 1,485 exhibitors from 55 countries, one thread ran through the whole fair: the industry is digitizing. For us that was a quiet confirmation. Many of the changes now appearing across the sector were already part of Stonify's vision three years ago, and are running in real operations today.
Five shifts that defined the fair
AI is making operations more efficient: digital simulations and algorithms let companies test processes and reduce cost, and robots bring millimeter precision to production.
The customer experience is changing through augmented and virtual reality: clients tour quarries and view showrooms remotely, and 3D project simulation gives buyers more confidence before they commit.
Sustainability is being reinforced by technology: systems that reuse offcuts and recirculate water, and traceability that follows the material.
Production is evolving with hybrid, smarter machines that combine several functions in one and carry sensors that monitor consumption and anticipate maintenance.
And the sector itself is expanding into hybrid models, with fairs like Marmomac running year-round platforms, not just a week in September.
Already part of what we do
Capture, real-time data, traceability, monitoring, online catalogues: the transformations on show in Verona are not a forecast for us. They are the solutions Stonify already brings to stone operations. The fair was a chance to reconnect with clients and partners, hear where the sector is heading, and keep building ahead of it.
